CENTENNIAL LIVESTOCK AUCTION WEDNESDAY, JULY 30, 2014 SHEEP AND LAMB AUCTION STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING   Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs and feeder lambs had no test. Slaughter ewes traded 3.00 – 7.00 lower. Slaughter kids traded 2.00 – 20.00 lower. Slaughter nannies traded 10.00 lower. Trade activity was moderate on moderate buyer demand. In the sheep supply 20% slaughter lambs, 42% feeder lambs, 38% slaughter ewes and bucks with the balance being replacement ewes.   The hay sale market is under pressure with grass hay seeming to take the biggest hit. High quality alfalfa hay continues to be in high demand (small bales under some stress), but a lot of it is the time of the year and the amount of grass out in our area.  Most all of the acreage people have plenty  of grass.  This last rain fall will make even more grass.  Fall and winter months will change that demand.
