CENTENNIAL LIVESTOCK AUCTION THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2012 SPECIAL CALF AND YEARLING AUCTION STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Trend not applicable due to no recent comparison. However, all classes of cattle sold with a firm undertone. Trading activity was moderate with good demand. Demand was especially good for high quality heifer calves. Supply included approximately 93% feeders and 7% replacement stock. The feeder cattle supply was comprised of approximately 45% steers and 55% heifers. Feeder cattle weighing over 600 lbs made up approximately 44% of the feeder supply. CENTENNIAL LIVESTOCK AUCTION WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2012 SHEEP AND LAMB AUCTION STATE AND FEDERAL REPORTING Compared to last week: There was not enough sheep and goats for an adequate market test. There was a firmer undertone noted. Demand was moderate to good for all classes, with increasing demand as the sale went on. Trading activity was moderate. In the sheep supply about 14% feeder lambs, 37% slaughter ewes and bucks, 16% slaughter lambs, balance replacement ewes. The goat supply consisted of 59% kids, 16% nannies, 6% being mostly billies and wethers, balance mostly replacement nannies. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.
