New Federal Regulations All dairy animals born after March 11, 2013 (heifers including barren heifers) steers and bulls must be officially ID’d with a federal approved ear tag. No untagged dairy animal may be shipped interstate without the ID tags from the premise of origin and a health certificate stating the same.
